Why Focus Upward?

Practicing in Colorado, I have worked with many individuals who love the outdoors.  With most outdoor sports comes an element of risk.  When someone is mountain or rock climbing, they must focus upward to calm their nerves.  Often you must also rely on others to do it effectively and be safe. You don’t have to climb perfectly.  You don’t have to not be afraid.  You can recognize that there is an element of risk to almost everything we do and often it is worth the price of admission to living a full life.  Just continue to focus upward, take it one rock at a time, and try to listen to and trust your body.  This process, in many ways, is comparable to therapy. In therapy, you are choosing to take a risk, and are inviting someone else to be on your climbing team to help you along the way.  Just keep climbing.
